Frequently Asked Questions

Before contacting us about a project, we suggest taking a look through some of the questions we are most frequently asked. It will help us to communicate more efficiently.

Do I need to have a specific design in mind?

You do not need to have a detailed design when you contact us. We work with all sorts of clients; some people know exactly what they want, some like us to make all the decisions, most fall somewhere in between. We are happy to work with you at any capacity, design or no design. What is the process for having a custom piece made?

The general process begins with you filling out our project form. We will contact you within the week with any further questions and give you some feedback on your project. From there, we can start puting together a project proposal for you to choose your final design. With the final design in mind we will make a final quote. Upon your approval and deposit, your project will be underway.

Do you charge a design fee?

We charge a nonrefundable $50/hr design fee that will go towards your final project cost.
Types of things this would include:

  • Site visits
  • Custom samples
  • Design sketches and renderings.

What materials do you work with?

We specialize in wood and metal. However, we have experience working with many other materials. If there is a special material you would like to be used, we will let you know the feasibility of it.

Do I have to pay a deposit for my project?

Yes, we require a nonrefundable deposit of 50% of the total project cost.

How much does a custom piece of furniture cost?

There is no easy answer to this quesiton, unfortunately. Because we deal with one-off pieces, every project will be a bit different. However, if you give us enough information on what you want, we may be able to give you a general eastimate for what it would cost.

How long does it take to have something made?

We normally guarentee delivery within 60 days of receiving your deposit. That being said, we are a small business of just three people. There is a chance of increased demand slowing our turn-around time. We do our best to forsee any delays and let you know beforehand.

How much is delivery and installation?

This is another question that can really only be answered case-by-case. If you live in the Detroit Metro Area and your project is reasonably sized, delivery is free. However, if you live outside the DMA, your project is very large, or requires additional onsite installation we will typically charge an additional fee. Whatever it may be, the delivery and installation fees will be included in the final quote.
